Before sending
Choose the shortest lifetime that matches the real handoff. If the recipient needs more context, send context in normal chat and keep the secret itself inside Shhhs.
- Set duration before sharing
- Set max views before sharing
- Use an opening code or passphrase when the link might pass through a noisy channel
Sharing the link
Share the generated link only with the intended recipient. Messaging previews should not receive secret content. If a recipient reports that a link is missing the private fragment, create a new handoff.
- Do not remove the URL fragment
- Do not paste links into public channels
- Burn the secret after a failed or suspicious delivery
